Our goal is to decrease loneliness through human connection. Volunteers engage in phone conversations with their phone friends, to the benefit of both parties.
If a conversation gets too intense, with any reference to problems outside of the scope of friendly conversation, refer them to one of the following resources.
SAMHSA National Helpline. Confidential free help, from public health agencies, to find mental health and substance use treatment and information.
Suicide and crisis lifeline. The 988 Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress including prevention and crisis resources.
The Disaster Distress Helpline (DDH) is the first national hotline dedicated to providing year-round disaster crisis counseling for emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters.
